I joined the Los Angeles Review of Books in 2019 as the site’s film editor, eventually expanding my role to commission work on television, media studies, and popular culture. My work with writers range from the developmental to the stylistic, and I am always open to pitches for strongly argued review essays with arresting prose, that make surprising connections, and, if possible, make serious claims with a dash of humor.

I also work as a contributing editor for LARB’s print quarterly. Within academic channels, in 2019, I co-edited an “In Focus” section on humor studies for the flagship Journal of Cinema and Media Studies with Maggie Hennefeld and Michael Rennett; I serve as a peer reviewer for scholarly venues including JCMS (where I am a member of the advisory board), Film Quarterly, the University of California, and Columbia University Press.

For some insight into my editing praxis and philosophy, please read my 2021 essay for ASAP/J, “Credit and Credibility: On Writing and Editing Public Scholarship.”
