Since October 2019, I have been one of the hosts of the New Books’ Network “New Books in Film” channel, where I’ve had the privilege of interviewing scholars and critics in the fields of film, television, and media. I love reading these books and learning about others’ research, but my favorite aspect of the job is hearing how others have endeavored to write a book, what challenges they faced along the way, and what tough calls they made in constructing what is nearly always a labor of love (emphasis on the labor).
